After several years representing a host of prominent Georgia businesses and some of the largest corporations in the world in both state and federal courts, I knew something was wrong. I realized that I could contribute more to the legal needs of people by changing my focus from representing large corporations to that of helping individuals navigate the legal system during some of the most stressful times in their lives.
To make the switch from a corporate to an individual focus, I began representing individuals who were charged with crimes and who had limited or no resources with which to pay an attorney. I found that listening to a person’s issue and finding a legal solution did not feel like work to me. Soon, my satisfaction with the work coupled with positively affecting a person’s life began to change my outlook on the practice of law, and I realized that I had found my career.
I find it especially gratifying to defend citizens facing criminal charges and loss of Constitutional rights because of government action, as well as helping those who have been hurt in accidents caused by others achieve justice for their situations.
